Something happened. I had unexpected problems with my computer, which required reinstalling Windows and temporarily pulling all my files to an external disk. It also means I currently have no working conditions to scan and color pictures. It's an unfortunate setback, but a momentary one nonetheless.

In other art related news, I'm preparing myself for the art academy. There's this neat section called "Animation and New Media". Apart from being so neat, it's also very popular and accepts up to 8 students per year. Next year will be my second and hopefully more successful attempt.

What does this mean, exactly? It means I've been drawing a shitload of figure studies, portraits, body parts and animations I don't really like. All in a days work, which brings me to my point. Drawing is work. It's my task for the day. It's no longer the thing I do instead of talking with people or paying attention to class. It's a conscious effort to improve your drawing by drawing something you really don't feel like drawing. Or maybe it's about finding something interesting in things you'd usually consider dull.

In any case, I haven't been slacking off. Art is the thing I want to do in life. Actually, storytelling is the thing I'd like to do in life, regardless of form. But considering I like drawing, I figure combining the two works perfectly. I've recently been pulled into the world of cinema, which is looking more compelling with each new good movie I watch. But I won't jump that bandwagon just yet. Not until I've sharpened up my people skills.

Another future absence is a trip I'm making to Israel. Should be fun and spiritual. So I'll see you (whoever is reading this) earliest on the 1st December.
